Special arrival from Milan

Our Italian friends have arrived in Belgium today. They started their day at 10 o’clock this morning and then waited for 3 hours at the airport. In those 3 hours they visited shops and looked for food. They ate a sandwich with cheese and ham. The plane took off at 1:15pm and landed at 15u00.  At the same moment the Belgian people received the last information about the train station, where we had to pick our Italian friends up and what at time we had to be there. The Italians were lucky to receive their luggage quickly at the airport. Within no time they were ready to take the train to Roeselare. After 2 hours they changed trains in Bruges, although they had to run a bit. After 20 minutes our new Italian friends arrived in Roeselare, where they left their luggage to the host family to took a group photo in front of the RSL letters of the city (you can see the picture below). After everybody had talked to everybody and had gotten to know each other better, it was time to leave and spend the rest of the evening with the host family and to explore Belgium a bit more, especially the habits of the inhabitants of Roeselare.

Final show

This week in Belgium, we worked with teams of Belgiam, Israeli and Italian peoples on a project to improve daily life. The project was about inventing a good law and improving it to deal with the day-to-day reality that politicians are going through.

On Friday we could finally present our law projects to our parents and friends, There were 8 laws with 8 different subjects. The groups had to decide how to present their laws, some made a song, others had a lot of sketches with characters. They were all very creative and wanted to impress the audience with a fabulous show, they made customs, panels and designed their own stage backgrounds.

Then it was time for the final rehearsal, the groups presented their show for the first time on the large stage for the other students and teachers. After the rehearsal we had two hours of free time to eat something and have fun with our friends.

We came back with good energy to perform the show for all our friends and family. The audience laughed a lot and enjoyed the show. Every student did his/her best and we were all were all very excited. After the show there was a reception for family and friends. It was a wonderful ending for an amazing week.

Trip to the bowling

On Friday morning we went to the bowling with the whole group. The bowling we usually go to moved and so we went to the new bowling in the Meiboomlaan for the first time.

After the break we left school by bike or by car. When we arrived at the bowling, we had to make groups of six persons and wear bowling shoes. Then, we all got a bowling alley assigned. Before we started playing we could choose a theme, for example prehistory/ birthday party… You could take selfies, that then appeared on the whole screen. Chatting with the other teams of six was also possible… a very nice addition in this new bowling!

After ordering some drinks, the games could really begin. You had to throw a bowling ball (you could choose between different weights) towards 10 bowling pins trying to knock them down. If you could knock them all down, you win a strike. We had 10 rounds with 2 shots each. The atmosphere was fantastic! In my group competition was high. At first, I had the most points, but I ended last in the end.

For some of us, it was our first-time in the bowling alley, but we learned quickly. My partner was even better than me and it was her first-time. We had a lot of fun and were so concentrated, that one boy even forgot to put the bowling shoes off and he left his own shoes. Fortunately, the teacher came back to change the shoes.
