Sabato

Vandaag konden we wat langer slapen en spraken af om 11u in de luchthaven waar we een lang en uitgebreid afscheid namen van onze vrienden (met het nodige aantal knuffels). Daarna vlogen we naar Brussel waar we de trein namen om onze ouders terug te zien in Lichtervelde. Dit was het einde van een fantastische, amusante en leerrijke reis.

Today we could we sleep a little longer and we met at 11 o’clock at the airport, where we took a long farewell of our friends (with a good amount of hugs). After, we flew to Brussels where we took the train to Lichtervelde to see back our parents. This was the end of a fantastic and educational trip.

In de ochtend hebben we weer onze beste kleren aangedaan en hebben we het Raffamun-project afgewerkt en schreven we een resolutie. Daarna was er de officiële presentatie met ouders, de burgemeester van Segrate en met alle delegates. Daar werden de prijzen uitgedeeld voor de beste delegates. Angie en Marie vielen in de prijzen met hun inbreng in het project. Na een heerlijke lunch op school interviewden de leerlingen van het oudere jaar de winnaars.
De dag werd afgesloten met karaoke met alle jaren en de leerkrachten. Het was zeer leuk.
Voor de laatste avond hebben we dan allemaal samen pizza gegeten en na de lekkere pizza hebben we nog iets gedronken in een bar.

In the morning we put our best clothes back on and finished the Raffamun project. Then there was the official presentation of voting of the resolutions. Prizes for the best delegates were given, and Angie and Marie were 1 of these winners. After a delicious lunch at school, the senior year students interviewed the winners.
To finish the day we did karaoke with the whole school and the teachers participated as well. It was great fun. The last night in Milan, we all ate pizza together and afterwards we had a drink in a bar.

Het laatste avondmaal met de Italiaanse vrienden

Ciao Ragazzi,

Vandaag mochten we voor het eerst ons kostuum aantrekken. Strak in het pak werd de eerste ‘RaffaMUN-sessie’ aangevat. Ondanks de vurigheid van de Italianen hielden we stand tijdens de verschillende discussies. Tijdens de eerste sessie leerden we de verschillende regels en procedures uitvoeren tijdens een debat.
Na uren debatteren konden we de ‘RaffaMUN-sessie’ succesvol afsluiten. We sloten de dag feestelijk af met het verjaardagsfeest van de Italiaanse Irene.

Today we got to put on our suit for the first time, because the first ‘RaffaMUN session’ commenced. Despite the fervour of the Italians, we managed to survive during the various discussions. During the first session, we learnt the different rules and procedures during a debate.
After hours of debating, we could finally conclude the ‘RaffaMUN session’. We ended the day festively with the birthday party of Italian Irene.

Today was a busy day filled with a variety of activities. In the morning, we worked on a speech for school, and in the afternoon, we had the chance to explore some beautiful places in Milan.

After spending some time working on our speech, we headed out to explore the city. Our first stop was at Navigli, a picturesque canal area known for its lively nightlife and beautiful bridges. Although it was afternoon by the time we arrived, the area was still bustling with people and had a lively energy.

Next, we visited Bosco Verticale, a unique building known for its living walls. It’s a 27-story tower covered in trees and shrubs, which is quite a sight to see. The building is also a great example of sustainable and green building, something we’re personally passionate about.

Finally, we stopped at McDonald’s for a quick lunch before continuing our day. Although fast food isn’t the healthiest option, it was convenient and allowed us more time to enjoy the city.

Overall, it was a busy but productive day full of new experiences and discoveries. We’re glad we had the opportunity to work on our speech and explore some of Milan’s most beautiful sights in the afternoon. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!

Martedi

Hoewel het regenachtig begon, hebben we genoten van deze leuke dag. We bezochten vandaag het mooie Verona. We zagen de arena en het balkon van Romeo en Julia. In de winkelstraat aten we heerlijke pretzels.

Daarna zijn we naar Sirmione getrokken waar het weer gelukkig opklaarde. Hier hebben we gegeten op een mooi plekje met uitzicht op het Gardameer. We maakten een wandeling naar Castello di Moniga. We genoten ook nog van een heerlijk ijsje.

Dus weer een geslaagde dag!

Although it was rainy, we enjoyed this fun-filled day. We visited beautiful Verona today. We saw the arena and Romeo and Juliet’s balcony. We ate delicious pretzels in the shopping street.

Then we headed to Sirmione where the weather luckily cleared up. Here we had dinner at a nice spot overlooking Lake Garda. We took a walk to Castello di Moniga. We also enjoyed a delicious ice cream.

So definitely once again a successful day!

AC Milan

Yesterday, we went to watch the match between AC Milan and Salernitana and it was an amazing experience. The San Siro stadium was filled with supporters of both teams who cheered loudly. The atmosphere in the stadium was incredible, and you could feel the tension as the players took to the field. Brent en Aege

Lunedi

Maandagochtend hebben we het Raffamun project besproken. Vervolgens hebben we een eigen lunchpakket op school opgegeten. De metro vertrok om 14 uur richting Milaan. We bezochten de typische monumenten van Milaan met behulp van audioberichten, die de Italiaanse partners hadden ingesproken. Daarna zijn we nog een ijsje gaan eten en hadden we wat vrije tijd. Sommigen onder ons zijn gaan shoppen, anderen zijn in de avond samen gaan eten.

Monday morning we discussed the Raffamun project. Then we ate our own packed lunch at school. The subway left for Milan at 2 pm. We visited the typical monuments of Milan with the help of audio messages recorded by the Italian partners. Then we went for ice cream and had some free time. Some of us went shopping, others went to dinner together in the evening.

Domenica

Vandaag zijn we naar Bologna geweest met de tgv. Eerst hebben we daar een beetje rondgewandeld, daarna aten we lasagne en daarna hebben we een stevige wandeling gemaakt naar een ‘gelateria’ en tegen de avond keerden we terug naar Milaan waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten.
De andere groep is met z’n allen naar Grazzano Visconti getrokken en heeft daar van een heerlijke viergangenmenu mogen genieten. Ook de ouders waren mee, de fotografen van dienst. De zon scheen tijdens onze kleine wandeling door dit middeleeuwse stadje waarmee we de dag mooi konden afsluiten.

Today we went to visit Bologna by train. First we walked around and then ate lasagna for lunch. Afterwards we discovered the city on foot and ended in a galeteria. When we arrived back in Milan we had another delicious meal together.

The other group drove through the countryside to Grazzano Visconti. In an agriturismo we enjoyed a delicious Italian lunch, with homemade food (salami, coppa, ravioli, pork and straciatella ice cream). It was a true Italian family dinner with the host families and the Belgian guests. Sun was out, spring is in the air. To end the day we strolled through the lovely medieval streets and visited some shops in Grazzano Visconti. A lovely Sunday well spent!

Meeting the family

After a pleasant one-hour-flight, we landed safely in Milan! And how lucky we are, because this week will be one of the most beautiful weeks of the month! We already started with 22° on arrival. The host families were enthusiastically waiting for us on arrival to show us the best of Milan this week! After being brought to our partners’ home, many of us got off to a very good start by sampling a traditional pasta or pizza. Some were also taken on a walking tour of Milan’s boulevard by the host families. Some of the group then also took an excursion this evening to visit a VR attraction. We are very eager to spend the rest of the week here!

Na een aangename vlucht zijn we veilig geland in Milaan! En wat hebben we geluk, want deze week wordt een van de mooiste weken van de maand! We startten alvast met 22° bij aankomst. De gastgezinnen stonden ons in de aankomsthall enthousiast op te wachten om ons deze week het beste van Milaan te laten zien! Na ons op het gemak geïnstalleerd te hebben, zijn velen onder ons al zeer goed gestart met het proeven van een traditionele pasta of pizza. Ook werden sommigen door de gastgezinnen meegenomen op een wandeling door de boulevard van Milaan. Een deel van de groep heeft deze avond dan ook een uitstap gedaan om een VR attractie te bezoeken. We staan alvast te popelen om de rest van de week hier door te brengen!
